Boston Globe: China May Soon Approve Genetically Modified Rice

The international logjam of resistance against genetically modified crops could loosen a bit, reports Jehangir S. Pocha in the Globe, if China follows through on indications it soon will approve sale of GM rice. Pocha reports that several Chinese manufacturers and one connected to Monsanto have filed marketing applications and some experts close to the government say approval looks imminent.
