We’ll round up some more tomorrow, but the morning cannot pass without recognizing news that a shower of meteorites from the skies over Morocco six months ago not only enriched private dealers who buy and sell such things, but could provide the best up-close-and-personal look at Martian geology this side of an on-purpose sample return mission.

It has some history, some meteoritics, some context, and lots on the bonanza this fall has meant for science and for the people who went into the North African wilderness and found stones that now sell for more than their weight in gold.
